Othman bin Affan’s waqf of ‘Romaa’ well in Madina is one of the earliest awqaf, known also as Othman‘s well and farm. From 1925 the Ministry of Awqaf took responsibility of it, and then the farm beginning from 1952 was rented to the Ministry of Agriculture. Historical texts show other waqfs of Othman including extending the Prophet’s mosque in Madina.
